Wrapper – Cuba

Prelight
Firm roll with a couple of soft spots.  There was also a bit of excess glue that spilled over onto the wrapper.  Light cedar aroma.

First third
Very light in body with almost no initial flavor.  Good draw.  Just the lightest hints of tobacco and cedar develop after the first few drags.  Peppery nose exhale.  The flavors starts to pick up after about 1/2″ with a velvety light chocolate and spice combination.  Mild sweetness on the short tobacco aftertaste.

Second third
Picking up an almost sweet light licorice flavor although I can’t quite put my finger on it.  Quickly turning and now getting flavors of deeply roasted nuts.  It seems like every draw at this point presents a different flavor profile.  Creamy mouth feel on the palate with a very smooth nose exhale.  Continuing with the short tobacco aftertaste.

Last third
The overuse of glue posed a bit of a problem when I removed the band and tore the wrapper.  Luckily I was able to smoke through it without too much of a problem.  The flavors remain delicious and are intensifying.  Primarily tobacco tastes with chocolate, roasted nuts, and cedar.  Finishing with a long mocha aftertaste.

Conclusion
Although this cigar started with nearly non existent flavors, it really turned around and presented dynamic and enjoyable tastes.  The smoke was smooth and creamy with hints of sweetness and light spices.  My only wish is that the cigar lasted longer.  Overall a very enjoyable smoke.  Recommended!
